Mired in a difficult stretch, Platte County ended up with a 15-0 walkoff win over the Bears in three innings Thursday afternoon at Platte County High School in a lopsided Suburban Conference White Division matchup. The Pirates entered having lost 5 of 7 overall with teams increasingly pitching around star senior shortstop Bryli Seifert.
Platte County senior Lillian Talbot threw an abbreviated perfect game, striking out five of the nine batters faced. The Pirates provided plenty of offense and took advantage of six William Chrisman errors.
Seifert went 3-for-3 while extending her single-season school record with a 10th home run. She also drove in three and scored three times while improving her batting average to .804 and on-base percentage to an astounding .849.
Platte County (13-6) hit double digits in runs for the 11th time with Talbot’s bases-loaded hit providing the game’s final run. She ended up on third with what would have been a triple, but junior Lacy Hayes invoked the run rule when she came home from third base.

Talbot scored three times and drove in three, while junior second baseman Kinleigh Howren ended up with four runs on two hits, including a triple.
Platte County importantly saw sophomore catcher Eva Bane go 2-for-2 with a double and two RIBs, while junior right fielder Brynna Peterson doubled on her only hit. The Pirates scored four in the first and three in the second, the last two on Seifert’s home run to center to score Talbot after she reached on an error.
The win improved Platte County to 3-3 in White Division play with the recent stretch of struggles including consecutive losses to Grain Valley, Fort Osage and Belton.
Park Hill 3, Platte County 2, 9 innings
The Trojans manufactured the winning run with just one ball leaving the infield in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday at Park Hill High School in Kansas City.
Platte County left six on base total in the two extra innings, including leaving the bases loaded in the top of the ninth. Park Hill walked both Talbot and Seifert, who went 1-for-1 with a walk. The Trojans never never trailed after scoring single unearned runs in the first and second off of senior starting pitcher Reagan Ball.

Both teams finished with six hits.
Park Hill opened the ninth with a single and a sacrifice bunt, and an infield single put the potential winning run at third. Seifert threw home on an infield ground ball but couldn’t cut down the runner and produce the second out to extend the game.
Platte County tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the sixth after a one-out double from Howren.
Park Hill intentionally walked Seifert with two outs, but both runners advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch, and Pirates sophomore first baseman singled both home. Ball kept the Trojans contained for six innings after the two early errors aided their offense and finished with eight strikeouts while scattering six hits and four walks across 8 1/3 innings.
Howren went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
